p.s i think David have use the w3images version 1.0.7 (the latest) with a wordpress prior to version 3.0.0 or better.
It is possible to download, if this is the case, the old w3images 1.0.3 that is compatible with old wordpress versions.

the 1.0.7 version has been released with the wp-w3images.php file suitable for new 3.0 templates of wordpress.
It is possible to modify the wp-w3images.php file to be suitable also with old templates or old wordpress installations, i can help in this if there is some request. A simple tutorial can be done with easy steps.
