Hello all! I just return online after long time, and what i have get too much, as i can see, is lot of spam as answers to some posts … but it is not very important!
Instead, i would like to excuse to all people, that had may contact me in any way and that do not have received answers from January; i’ll be online from now on, also if with a limited time, and this almost until September of this year. But maybe, some good circumstance will help to solve problems before and yes … i really hope!

A new skin for axew3.com and a new plugin soon

As w3images gallery plugin for WordPress version 1.1.4 is a stable release, and w3images 1.1.5 will be maybe released for Christmas time, as little gift with all collected suggestions and improvements: but also a new plugin will be added to the WordPress repository: the w3 meta tag plugin for WordPress.
Yes, i know there is already a good one available meta tags relate plugin, or maybe there are more, but after a short review of wp 3.0.1 code, and while building the new (more hot to me) axew3.com template skin, i have code something simple, but so powerful and effective for the site, that add automatically meta tags list in a convenient and easy way, that do not overload bandwidth and take all essentials benefits from natives WordPress functions/classes.
It has been token from the new theme and re-coded to build another useful WordPress plugin.
Hope to finish with all checks and code adjustments in this weekend, also if the inclement time is very short to me this time.

w3images 1.1.4 fix the batch images upload bug in w3images administration.
Upgrade to 1.1.4 your w3images as it is the most stable and featured (about w3images CSS improvement, please refer to the w3images how to page, under the CUSTOMIZE W3IMAGES TEMPLATE LAYOUT section).

memo -> To upgrade w3images, overwrite all w3images files, wp-w3pup.php and wp-w3images.php in your WordPress root, and the entire w3images files contained inside folder wp-content/plugins/w3images with new updated w3images 1.1.4 files.

w3images 1.1.3 released to fix 1.1.2

Just released the w3images 1.1.3, that fix one of two bugs reported by sascha in this comment: the 1.1.3 fix the single image upload problem in administration, while still need to be fixed the batch upload (multiple images upload) that will be fixed in some hour more with a new release 1.1.4.

The w3images 1.1.3 fixes and additions:

fixed single upload image in administration (the batch upload will be fixed in the 1.1.4 released as soon it is possible)
added the css file contained in wp-content/plugins/w3images/includes/w3images.css. It is added to the header of your theme automatically just in case the w3images page is browsed, and it isn’t loaded on all others blogs pages where isn’t needed. It is now possible to fix the gallery output by editing the w3images.css. All classes and ids will be also improved and precisely explained with w3images 1.1.4 release, but it is working also on 1.1.3.

Please, report commenting to this post any problem with 1.1.3: it has been test out before release but users can better discover any eventually problem. Thank to Sascha for his report about problems on single and batch images upload in administration: the single upload has been fixed in this 1.1.3 while the batch images upload will be fixed within 1.1.4 released as soon, but presumably tomorrow.

w3images 1.1.2 ready

Has been updated at wordpress.org – w3images plugin and here at axew3.com download page the w3images gallery, with the new released w3images 1.1.2: it fix several bugs and come with an improved wp-w3images.php file. It is necessary to take a look to the wp-w3images.php file to fit your template in some easy step (read inside the same file, simple code/instructions).
An important bug has been fixed where a loop was leading to a server requests overload through w3images, in case of a wrong request.

This 1.1.2 version can be considered as the most stable release of the w3images gallery plugin for WordPress. Any possible remaining bug can be fixed, if there is, also, if you discover and report it: thank you.

Shadowbox tips and triks with w3images?

If you are using the w3images plugin, the gallery images for WordPress, you may know that w3images implement the Shadowbox ajax library (while WordPress, include on all WordPress packages the Thickbox ajax library).

Shadowbox is more comfortable on some aspect, but except the start example, sufficient to use w3images as needed and contained on the w3images how to page , there is no more examples or helps to give more immediate and easy references of cool effects that are possibles with Shadowbox and images slides or presentations.
Any help in this would be great and really useful, so thank to anyone can help in adding some clear Shadowbox tutorial for/or w3images improvements. As soon as it is possible, something more will be added in any case.

w3images 1.1.1 released

Due to a bug about PREV/NEXT links on slide images in the simple JS/HTML popup mode, the w3images has been updated and released as 1.1.1 version.
The change of deprecated function in favor of the new get_bloginfo(), have fix the problem. The ajax slide show is probably the most used with w3images as it is cool, by the way the simple JS/HTML popup and the inline mode can be better in many circumstances or needs.

Next w3images, should return to have a now dismissed but useful, option. The possibility to rename the wp-w3images.php file as we like, so will be possible to have something like (as example): http://www.axew3.com/blog/mygallery.php.
I think it is so cool and very important to have more than is possible, options to set up as we like any aspect of the gallery layout. The wp-w3images.php file rename option maybe will be added to next w3images 1.1.2.

All w3images templates will be adjusted and rebuild to get a more professional images gallery layout, also if there are already all necessary css classes that can be added to CSS instructions.

More examples to improve the w3images How To page for ajax effects, tips and tricks of various kind; any addition and help in this will be very welcome of course!

Released w3images 1.1.0

Due to the bug report done by user Ulil, that i would like to thank, was necessary to come out immediately with new w3images 1.1.0 version. It fix the bug reported by Ulil on activating the w3images plugin. It was reporting these error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Fatal error: Call to a member function get_results() on a non-object in /home/.../.../wp-content/plugins/w3images/w3images-functions.php on line 48
The problem was coming out because the elimination of global vars that i misunderstand it can be cut off on wordpress > 3, so in the version 1.0.9 a line of code have been wrongly eliminated. As some improvement in administration options file has been added and due to this necessary fix, the new w3images 1.1.0 has been just released.

As mentioned, the 1.1.0 add some improvement on w3images administration where more info about images are immediately available. Some minor changes to all files.

A good step ahead has been done with 1.0.9 version where the wp-w3images.php file become very easy to be modified and adapted to fit any wordpress theme template. Would like to remember that the wp-w3images.php file is suitable for templates of wordpress version 3 or better.
Ask for any help to customize the w3images for any other wordpress old version, or also for any other particular issue.
The added w3images main Dashboard widget that inform about new images to be validate is cool and useful to me.
In a scenario where the gallery have upload images and images on our space, what can now result really useful for any WordPress blogger?

I have think to three things to make better and useful the new w3images 1.1.0 (version 1.1.0 is like a birthday!).

(this feature will be probably added on next version but it is not 100% sure) – Like Read More tag insertion to have an excerpt for the post, the w3images will add his tag for posts: this tag inserted on posts like any other tag, will cause the insertion of specified images in the exact point without using the html img tag (that is also easy to be used of course). If will be possible to add it without any wordpress core/files modifications, but just with w3images code addition inside his plugin’s files, than this w3images tag functionality will be added.
Easy image’s name and code grab to add images on posts, pages or templates without doing any hard image’s name research. This can be achieved adding notices and notes about images on various (useful) points and in various ways. Some suggestion is welcome.
A more improvement of the Gallery wrap code, to have more precise control over tables and div structure and so over pictures when slide show mode is inline or not etc.

The w3images 1.0.9 will be available for download within today here at axew3.com or at w3images wordpress.org plugin.

Features added to new 1.0.9 w3images plugin:

added to the admin main dashboard the w3images widget to know on fly if there are images to be validated.
the wp.w3images.php file (the template page for your w3images gallery) has been simplified as much is possible and it now contain only strictly needed instructions, doing very easy to fit any WordPress template.

And i think this is the most important one that should maybe be done in the past. What we can say: later is best than never!

The next w3images 1.1.0 will be improved about his template structure, to have even more control and precision over the gallery wrapper and his html contained code. Some CSS class and id are already available for w3images gallery and you can find out and grab all these values inside the file w3images_add.css ( wp-content/plugins/w3images/includes/w3images_add.css ) and you can add these classes to your WordPress CSS template.

The w3images 1.0.9 will be available for download within few hours here at axew3.com or at w3images wordpress.org plugins page

The w3images 1.0.8 has been released yesterday and the new 1.0.9 start already to push
As w3images has been conceived, it can be so useful to extend wordpress sites that like to have a Gallery images separated from WordPress practically, but fully integrated about all users aspects and about the full control over many gallery aspects. Possibilities to link images as singles or as slide show of thumbnails of every needed dimension everywhere, (now it is possible to set arbitrary thumbnails dimensions on fly while adding images from w3images admin options page) to posts, pages or directly inside a template as explained on w3images how to page.
Many possibilities are easy to be applied, and here at axew3.com blog’s pages the w3images features are used at very low level. Much more is possible to be done using the w3images gallery plugin.

I think the main aim for the new 1.0.9 version, should be the wp-w3images.php file improvement, that should make w3images from now on, even more easy and comfortable to be integrated on any template.
With this intention, the best think to be done for the wp-w3images.php file should be to eliminate all possible php code that can be moved to the w3images-functions.php file or on another separated file.
The content of the wp-w3images.php file, reported as simple i can explain in words is:

WordPress common code template Start
Images Gallery html wrap
Images gallery function call
WordPress common code template End

After this improvement about template, any suggestion is welcome to add new valid features to the next w3images 1.0.9 gallery.

In versions 3.0 or better of new WordPress releases, as reported also at wordpress codex, the w3images code has now become obsolete and this the reason why w3images plugin do not work completely as expected when users are uploading images on gallery.
Before the wordpress gallery w3images 1.0.8 release, users permissions about images uploads will be fixed and all messages and rules rewrite to reflect new wordpress 3 series Roles and Capabilities.

Thinking to next features for the w3images, i ask to somebody that can help, to add something in reply on how to use the w3images for blogging: there are really many tips and ways to play with images, very basics are already been added to the w3images how to page, some other will be added time by time, but some help will be really appreciate if somebody can.
For the 1.0.8 version, in absence of suggestions i was thinking to rewrite some function in the administration side, where a better control over uploaded images, to approve or delete with easy and in seconds, and improving some important aspect. A better manipulation of images in administration is the more important aim of next w3images 1.0.8.

Another one important, is that to have the possibility to choose the dimension for each thumbnail of uploaded image: in administration, so, will be possible to upload an image creating a thumbnail of desired dimension that can be different each time: as a thumbnail all over the blog can be used in various ways, this option about thumbnail dimension can return very useful for many users.
Of course, if thumbnail dimension values aren’t set while uploading, than the default one set in the w3images main setting will be used.

These two are features added/improved for the images gallery 1.0.8 if no more suggestions or helps are coming out on the way before release.
