🛡️ The On-RAM Security Protocol
DECRYPTION On-RAM: By using the Display in Drawer (On-RAM) mode, the sensitive data exists only in volatile memory. Once the Red button is clicked data are permanently gone.
Note important: the Drawer ON-RAM viewer actually only supports image, video, and text formats. Note that using the Drawer ON-RAM viewer could duplicates RAM usage; therefore, you should typically avoid decrypting very large files using this option: anyway the performance depends on the device’s resources and power.
ZERO DISK FOOTPRINT (Anti-Forensics)
Traditional apps “temp” your files to the hard drive or browser cache. If the computer is stolen or analyzed, that data is recoverable. In w3mypgp, the decrypted data exists exclusively in volatile RAM if you do not download the decrypted files explicitly. It never touches the SSD/HDD, leaving zero magnetic traces for forensic tools to find.
INSTANT VAPORIZATION
Because the data is held in RAM, it is “Ephemerally Bound” to the browser tab.
Close the Tab: The memory is immediately marked for overwrite by the OS.
Click the Red Button: it manually nullify variables and revoke Blob URLs, “shredding” the digital memory. We also overwrite the RAM with zeros.
SHOULDER-SURF PROTECTION
By rendering inside a Collapsible Drawer rather than a new window or a download folder, the data is only visible when you choose to slide it open.
BROWSER PRIVATE MODE SYNERGY
When used in Incognito/Private Mode, browsers are even more aggressive. They don’t even store the metadata of the “Drawer” contents. Once you exit, the session is purged from the physical memory chips at a hardware level.
