Well, yes it is possible ... i intended to remove it because any other offered by themes/plugins would work, but you have reason.
It can be useful into a WP where there are no other way to place a login form because not offered by some other plugin.
I also have think to remove it, because many themes do not support anymore the new way to build widgets, and it only works on [i]old way themes[/i].
For news, it would be better to have a shortcode. Or the new WP way to build widgets (using some theme, the old way the widget is coded, do not display into available widgets).

Ok, we will go to reintroduce, fixing/improving it, also adding the shortcode way.
