{"id":8918,"date":"2025-08-12T11:29:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T09:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.axew3.com\/w3\/?p=8918"},"modified":"2025-10-12T10:23:29","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T08:23:29","slug":"custom-phpbb-config-php-file-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.axew3.com\/w3\/2025\/08\/custom-phpbb-config-php-file-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom phpBB config.php file inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you wish to <strong>NOT store the phpBB db credentials into the WP database<\/strong>, it is possible to use the <strong>custom phpBB config.php file inclusion<\/strong> and use it in this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">if not done already because you want to use custom files for shortcodes etc, <strong>create the folder<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<strong>wp-w3all-custom<\/strong>\/<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>add<\/strong> into the new created <em><strong>wp-w3all-custom<\/strong><\/em> folder the file<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-w3all-phpbb-integration\/addons\/<strong>phpBB_config.php<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>after you opened it with a text editor and filled with proper phpBB db connection values<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So you&#8217;ll have <em>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/em>wp-w3all-custom<em>\/<\/em><strong>phpBB_config.php<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this way the integration plugin will work using the file db credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-cyan-1-color\">NOTE IMPORTANT:<\/mark><\/strong> you have to setup by the way the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-cyan-1-color\">phpBB URL<\/mark><\/strong> param into the plugin admin (this will be soon changed\/simplified).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-cyan-1-color\">NOTE ALSO<\/mark> that there is no requirement to activate the option USE CUSTOM FILES <\/strong>so to have this to work.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the file<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/em>wp-w3all-custom<em>\/<\/em><strong>phpBB_config.php<\/strong> exist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it will be used.
